- How to obtain your Bus CDL
  • You must attend a Bus Class (3 day class with 4 tests)
  • After completing the Bus Class, you need to obtain a DOT Medical Card (either a year or 2 year expiration depending on your medical history).
  • You take the DOT Medical Card to get your Bus Permit.  You must hold your Bus Permit for 14 days.
  • You will be scheduled for Behind-the-Wheel Training (3 days plus testing day).
  • Once you complete the Behind-the-Wheel Training, you will go get your full Bus Licenses with P and S endorsements.  These licenses expire every 3 years.
  • You have to recertify with the driver trainer before renewing your license.
