Career and Technical Education
The mission of Career and Technical Education is to help empower students for effective participation in an international economy as world-class workers and citizens. CTE programs are designed to contribute to the broad educational achievement of students, including basic skills such as reading, writing, and mathematics, as well as to their ability to work independently and as part of a team, think creatively and solve problems, and utilize technology.
Career and Technical Education is an integral part of the comprehensive school program in Pamlico County.Middle school students are offered exploratory courses in business and information technology, life skills, biotechnology, and career decisions. In the high school, introductory and advanced courses are available in the areas of agriculture, business and information technology, career development, health occupations, family and consumer sciences, and trade and industrial education. Huskins classes and dual enrollment opportunities are available through the community college.
