Pamlico County Schools chose Kara, 1st grade teacher at Pamlico County Primary School, to represent our school district for this award. Based upon eligibility requirements and a nomination process, Kara was selected for this award at the local level. Joshua Gaskill, District Teacher Support Specialist, had this to say about Kara, “We are very excited for Kara and this honor she has been presented. As a beginning teacher, Kara represents what is great in education, and I look forward to what she will continue to accomplish in her career. Thank you for your hard work and dedication to your students.” Kara will now go through a regional selection process where three finalists will be selected for each RESA (Regional Educational Service Agency). If selected at the RESA level, Kara will advance to state interviews in December.
