Javon, a sophomore, finished the 2017-18 season, 27-4. Javon, who had encountered Rosewood’s Nyterrius Williams twice before this season, prepared himself well to meet this tough contender in the state match. Coach Kevin Knox said, “Javon wrestles like a lightweight and shoots where other heavyweights don’t. He had to keep his feet moving and just be patient. And, he was. He was patient.” Javon’s quick moves and patience paid off with a state championship. Congratulations also to Coach Knox and Assistant Coach Terrence Green for their coaching skills and advice which culminated in a wrestling state champion.
