Out of District Students

Pamlico County Schools welcomes families who reside outside of Pamlico County and wish to enroll their child in our district. To ensure a smooth and fair process, all out-of-district requests must follow the established procedure, which includes completing an application, providing required documentation, and receiving approval from the superintendent or designee. Acceptance is based on factors such as space availability, student conduct, and transportation arrangements. We encourage families to review the full procedure carefully before submitting a request.

To be considered for out-of-district enrollment, students must meet the criteria outlined in PCS Policy 4130A (Admission Criteria), which is included below.

Important Reminders:

  • Parents/guardians are responsible for providing their own transportation.

  • All application materials must be submitted in a complete packet prior to the deadline — June 19, 2025.
Incomplete or late submissions will not be considered.

Required Documents:

  • A letter stating the reason you would like your child to attend Pamlico County Schools

  • A release form from your child’s home district for the 2025–2026 school year

  • A notarized affidavit. Notaries are available at each school and the Central Office.

  • A copy of your child’s most recent report card

  • A copy of your child’s attendance report

  • A copy of your child’s behavior report

Please Note:
If a completed packet (letter, release form, affidavit, report card, attendance report, and behavior report) is not submitted by June 19, 2025, your child must be registered in the school district of your domicile.
